What is an Omni directional antenna for 2.4 GHz?
Omni directional antenna are used for Point-to-Multi-Point systems, they collect and broadcast signal in a 360-degree pattern , similar to how a light bulb throws light in in a room. These low gain omni antennas provide a perfect coverage for an indoor environment. they cover more area near the AP or a wireless device in order to increase the probability of receiving the signal in a multipath environment.
Since the energy of the signal is not directional or pointed in a specific way,Omni directional antennas tend to be of lower gain compared to directional antennas, so the peak throughput is lower .
The 2.4 GHz omni antennas from TreLink are designed to operate in the spectrum for IEEE 802.11b, 802.11g and 802.11n wireless LANs, Bluetooth® and LTE applications. Moreover, for applications where outdoor access points are used, a series of direct mount antennas are available. All antennas are durable and rugged and can withstand the harshest environments of snow , wind ,rain and ice. Input impedance is 50 ohms.
Here are some of our best performing omni-antennas for 2.4GHz ISM band.
